Roses move in exclusive circles, but snobbery delayed the appearance of garment-related rose names. Growers and their clientele, who strove to preserve an aristocratic air about the queen of flowers, sniffed at the slightest whiff of "trade". Thank goodness they came around, Viva la France!!!!
