Bloom of the Day

R. foetida persiana

'Persian Yellow', a double, bright yellow variety introduced to Europe from Persia (modern day Iran) in 1837. This was the pollen parent of the early Hybrid Tea Roses through the work of the great rose breeder Joseph Pernet-Ducher of Lyon, thereby injecting into some Modern Roses the yellows and oranges we know today.
