Bloom of the Day

Empress Josephine

The flowers are large for an Old Garden Rose and loosely shaped, with wavy, papery petals that blends light and deep pink. It is thought that the parents might have been R. gallica and R. pendulina, but no one knows who created it or just when in the early nineteenth century it was given its name in honor of the most famous rosarian in history.
