Bloom of the Day

Many of the Bourbons are refined to the point of daintiness, but this one is on the bold side, with large, double blooms that open wide to show stripes and penciling of violet and mauve over pink.  Who Honorine de Brabant was is now a mystery; nor does anyone know the raiser’s name or the exact date of this excellent rose, possibly from around the 1840’s.
