Bloom of the Day

Wild Blue Yonder

In beginning of the nineteenth century, an ‘azure’ rose was announced as having just arrived from China. Great the disappointment when it flowered crimson. Some roses come in purple to lilac tones, but with names such as ‘Wild Blue Yonder’, ‘Shocking Blue’ and ‘Blue Moon’ are, it must be said, rather optimistic, however lovely the roses themselves may be. A true blue rose still eludes us.
